      <image:title>about - Welcome to ‘by Madeline’</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, I’m Madeline! I’m a copywriter, reporter, and content strategist with extensive experience with news reporting, blogging, as well as SEO, and marketing-related content. With each and every piece, I seek to embody the voice of the sources, brands, or companies to share unique and authentic stories that ring true with each and every reader. As a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with majors in journalism and English literature, to say I’m a bit story-obsessed would be an understatement. I currently work for a marketing agency as the Senior Content Manager, writing educational materials for Target’s beauty department, as well as scripts for social media video ads for brands ranging from Batiste to MinuteMaid, to name just a few of my daily tasks. Additionally, I’ve continued expanding my skills as a freelance reporter at the Gazette Chicago, a local community newspaper in Chicago. And lastly, to round it out, I freelance as a copywriter for another marketing agency, writing blog posts utilizing SEO best practices for a range of clients. With vast writing experience, my interests range from politics and culture, to fashion and beauty, with each garnering the same enthusiastic copy, no matter the subject matter. Featuring an authentic cadence, I come forth with honesty and a deep desire to understand. What can I say, I’m a curious person. If you want to get in touch, or would like to see more examples of my previous work, please feel free to email me at makoul3@yahoo.com. Yes, you read that right, yahoo.com. Don’t hate.</image:caption>

      <image:title>home - It all begins with a feeling.</image:title>
<image:caption>Nostalgia, passion, sadness, heartbreak, joy. Someone else’s struggle, a neighbor’s recounting, an old memory. This is only the start, and I make it into the story. From interviews with activists to blogs on fashion or beauty, and personal essays, I pull it all together. With a yearning to observe and understand, I dive headfirst into each and every story, searching for that underlying emotion that will make it hit home with readers, connecting us through the same sentiment. Whether that’s a city’s changing landscape or the latest trends, I weave the words together so we are all connected on the topics we love most. All this to say ‘hi, I’m Madeline, and I’m a writer.’ Join me and read the latest by Madeline Makoul here.</image:caption>
